Making grieving children and young people a priority for change

Help us find out what changes children and young people think would improve the lives for bereaved children and young people

Help the Childhood Bereavement Network understand what changes should be made to improve the lives of bereaved children and young people.

This Children’s Grief Awareness Week, the Childhood Bereavement Network want to know what is most important to grieving children and young people.

These short surveys, based on the recommendations from the independent UK Commission on Bereavement, seek the opinions of children and young people. The surveys are very short – there are 10 questions in each survey – and can be completed in around 5 minutes. Any child or young person can participate, and the Network advises that a parent, carer or other trusted adult is present for support and to confirm permission to participate.

The Childhood Bereavement Network, in collaboration with others, will be using the results of these surveys to influence the Government about what changes should be made – making sure that the voices of bereaved children and young people are at the heart of their influencing work.

The surveys open on at 9:00am Thursday 16 November 2023 and close at 5pm, Friday 15 December 2023.

Take the children’s survey (5 – 12 years of age)

Take the young people’s survey (13 years plus)

Supporting information about the surveys, including suggested copy for childhood bereavement organisations and services can be found here:
